"TATA" Box

1) is a DNA sequence (cis-regulatory element) found in the promoter region of most genes.

2) The TATA box has the DNA sequence of 5'-TATAAA-3'.

3) Used as a promotor, because it is easier to break hydrogen bonds (2) between Adenine and Thymine, rather than breaking hydrogen bonds (3) between Guanine and Cytosine.
